My Girl 2 Storyline
Vada Sultenfuss has a holiday coming up, and an assignment: to do and essay on someone she admires and has never met. She decides she wants to do an assignment on her mother, but quickly realises she knows very little about her. She manages to get her father to agree to let her go to LA to stay with her Uncle Phil and do some research on her mother. Once in LA, she finds herself under the protection of Nick, the son of Phil's girlfriend, who at first is very annoyed at losing his holidays to escort a hick *girl* around town. However, he soon becomes more involved in the difficult search.

My Girl 2 goofs
- FAKE: Near the beginning of the movie, when Vada and Harry go bowling and Vada rolls her strike, just as the ball touches one of the pins, you can see that all of the pins were yanked backwards as if strings were attached to each of the pins.
- GEOG: When Vada's plane lands as the end of the movie the hill behind the airport with all the houses on it does not look like anything that would be found in Pennsylvania but looks quite similar to southern California.
- MISC: in an earlier scene, Vada and her family were watching "the Partridge Family". when Vada and her father go bowling she mentions missing Archie Bunker, however, in 1974 (when the movie is set) _"The Partridge Family" (1970)_ (qv) and _"All in the Family" (1971)_ (qv) were shown at the same time on the same night, so she'd already missed Archie Bunker while she was watching The Partridge Family.
- DATE: Set in 1974, shows a Blockbuster Video store. Blockbuster Inc. was founded in Dallas, Texas, in 1985.
- DATE: Set in 1974, when Vada first gets to her uncle's car shop, a modern 4-door car passes by on the street in the background.
