High School Musical 3: Senior Year Storyline

As seniors in high school, Troy and Gabriella struggle with the idea of being separated from one another as college approaches. Along with the rest of the Wildcats, they stage a spring musical to address their experiences, hopes and fears about their future.

High School Musical 3: Senior Year trivia

In the "Now Or Never" scene, Chad jumps from a lying position when he was fouled. He also did that jump in the first movie, during "Stick To The Status Quo."
High School Musical 3 is the first film series to start out on TV, then move to a theatrical release. There have only been Movies that start in theaters and go onto T.V. _A Christmas Story (1983)_ (qv) had a theatrical release but it was a sequel to 3 TV movies: "The Phantom of the Open Hearth", A (1976), "The Great American Fourth of July and Other Disasters", A (1982), and "The Star-Crossed Romance of Josephine Cosnowski", A (1983).
In the scene where Sharpay arrives at East High School (making her first appearance in the film) the instrumental music from the song "Fabulous" from the second movie is heard.
Film plot was originally slated to be "Haunted" and follow the plot of a Halloween movie.
'Stan Carrizosa' (qv), the winner of ABC's summer reality show, _"High School Musical: Get in the Picture" (2008)_ (qv), appears in a music video that is shown over the end credits of the theatrical release of the film. The show's other 11 finalists were featured in the music video as well.

High School Musical 3: Senior Year goofs

FAKE: The trees have full summer leaves at the party after the basketball game. The weather would be much colder on a night after a basketball game in Albuqurque.
CONT: In the scene where Troy asks Gabriella to the prom on the school's roof, they waltz to "Can I Have This Dance". Throughout the musical number, the daylight switches back and forth from early morning sun to evening sunset several times, suggesting that the filmmakers spent all day shooting this scene and edited together the best bits, although clearly filmed at different times of day and causing a disjointed feel.
CONT: Troy gets green paint on his hands, then climbs over the white fence without getting green paint on it.
CONT: In the basketball game, Troy's hair goes from being very sweaty to almost dry in just a few seconds. It goes back and forth several times.
CONT: While Kelsi is trying to get the group to do the musical, Gabriella is talking to Ryan, the next shot, she is facing the other direction.
