She's the Man Storyline

Here's the thing Viola's soccer team at Cornwall got cut so she wanted to join the boys team, but they did not allow. So she thought "If you can't join them, beat them". And so she does, she disguises herself as her twin brother Sebastian, and goes out for the Illyria Boys Soccer Team. But she didn't plan falling in love with her roommate Duke. But the thing is Duke has his eye on Olivia. The thing that makes matters worse Olivia starts to fall for Sebastian who actually is a girl and she/he has a sensitive side. If things couldn't get more problematical the real Sebastian (who is in London working on his music) comes home early. He arrives on campus and has no clue that he was replaced by his twin sister.

On Viola's first day at Illyria, there is a sign for the school's play entitled "What You Will" which not coincidentally is the subtitle for the Shakespearian play upon which this film is based
Based on 'William Shakespeare (I)' (qv)'s "Twelfth Night".
The song playing during the double date between Viola/Sebastian, Eunice, Duke, and Olivia is one of Sebastian's songs. Olivia reads the lyrics of the song out loud the first time she and Viola/Sebastian work as lab partners and later she recites the same lyrics to the real Sebastian.
When they first started filming, 'Amanda Bynes' (qv) couldn't play soccer at all. Nevertheless, Bynes does most of her own playing in the movie.
According to the audio commentary on the DVD, the opening to the movie was shot on the coldest day of June in the history of Vancouver.
